Acute exacerbation of Bronchial Asthma

Diagnosis of asthma should be made based on typical clinical history and supported by positive obstructive airflow reversibility with spirometry.

Typical History

  • wheeze
  • cough
  • chest tightness
  • shortness of breath

Presence of obstructive airflow reversibility

The higher the reversibility (or peak flow variability), the higher the probability of asthma.
